the “harmless” comments we should stop making

by Girlinshadows (Theheroiccouplet)

I think we’ve all received at least once a comment that was told to you as a “harmless” thing, without a bad intention, but in reality it got to us. I’m also pretty sure we’ve made such comments ourselves to others, even if we don’t know it.

Why do we judge people? Why do we strongly feel the need to make nasty comments about others? The way I like to put it is: We all have a disgusting little demon inside of us which craves those mean comments.  They make us say them; they beg us to do so. They feed off of the bad things we say about others and the more of these comments we make the more the demon keeps growing. And the more they grow, the more comments they need to eat. It gets greedier. So be careful with your demon. Feed it as less as possible. Say as less nasty things as you can.

Just make sure you think twice before saying anything that may offend someone. You never know if you might trigger a person’s weak spot, you don’t know what each person is going through in their personal lives. Don’t mess with peoples’ mentality and psychology. It’s not a joke, and the person might even become dangerous either to you, or themselves.
